Peace Cranes from Goa sent to Hiroshima


In collaboration with the local area newspaper- Vasco Watch, Origami Artist Shivaram coordinated the origami Peace of Paper Project with various schools, institutions and citizens groups in Goa and taught them to fold the Traditional Japanese Origami Crane.
The story of the little girl Sadako was narrated and the significance of the ceremony at the Hiroshima Peace Park on Aug 6th every year was also explained to the groups.
Differently abled children from Ashadeep, Sada were a part of this project this year too. These cranes have been sent to Hiroshima to be placed at the Peace Park on 6th August as a commitment of the citizens of this city to peace and harmony in the world.
